Off-the-Job Training Requirements

A critical aspect of the apprenticeship structure at JC Training & Consultancy is the requirement for off-the-job training. Apprentices must dedicate at least 20% of their working hours to off-the-job training, which translates to a minimum of 6 hours per week for full-time apprentices (those working over 30 hours per week). This training is essential for gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for achieving occupational competence​

Off-the-Job Training Activities May Include:

  • Workshops and Seminars: Engaging sessions that focus on specific skills or knowledge areas.

  • Self-Directed Learning: Research, study, and assignments completed outside of work duties.

  • Online Learning Modules: E-learning courses that provide additional training.

  • Mentoring and Coaching: Structured support from trainers or experienced colleagues.

It is important to note that activities such as initial assessments and progress reviews do not count towards the off-the-job training hours
